  • The Gamesa 500 kW inverter uses a control topology and strategy that has been in use and optimized since 1993, when it was first placed into service at " the Toledo Photovoltaic plant". It was the first European 100 kW IGBT inverter for photovoltaic applications. This technology has been developed for over fifteen years by the company in large photovoltaic plants in Spain.
  • The inverter is designed to ensure the components' operating temperature is well below their operating limits, thus making sure that the inverter's useful life exceeds twenty-five years.
  • The DC input allows for a maximum voltage of up to 1250 V, which allows for:
    • Greater flexibility in the photovoltaic field's configuration, as the strings can have a greater number of panels in series (mid-point to earth configuration).
    • A reduction in cable cross-sections to handle less intensity better.
    • Inverter's DC 400V III output without LV/LV transformer, so that it can connect directly to a standard transformer
