ENERTRON has developed a 630 kW / 700 kVA double converter for
multipole synchronous wind generators, being its main feature
that they do not need a speed gear box. The main
characteristics of
this converter are: -Bidirectional IGBTs converter on the grid side with Field
Oriented Control. The converter permits an independent remote
control of the active and reactive. This feature makes the
converter suitable for weak grids where it is necessary to
stabilize the voltage by controlling the reactive power feeded
by the inverter.
-The converter supplies three phase sinusoidal currents with a
small harmonic content (THD < 3% at nominal power) providing the
synchronism with the grid.
-IGBTs converter in the generator side with Field Oriented
Control and encoder-based phase detector. The converter permits
a soft power regulation which allows the wind generator to work
with a wide speed range. |

-Both converters permit the remote communication and include keyboard
and a display in order to insert the specific generator’s parameters as
well as operation variables. The display shows different useful
parameters for the monitoring of the state of the converters.
- Both converters include start and stop sequential procedures as well
as alarm detection by means of a specific microcontroller for each
converter.
