for New Technologies

History

  • ENERTRÓN was founded in 1979. Its initial activity consisted of the design and manufacturing of medium and high power UPS for Electric Power Generation Stations and industrial plants. Many of the AC and DC UPS that today still control essential bus bars in Thermal and Nuclear Power Stations in Spain were manufactured by ENERTRÓN in the 1980s.
  • ENERTRÓN's milestones clearly reflect the company's culture. Its aim ever since it was founded has always been focused more on offering advanced technology products for new applications in the mid to high range rather than on attaining large sales figures with conventional products.
  • Both at its own initiative and at the initiative of its customers, ENERTRÓN undertook numerous R&D projects in the 1990s, the result of which was a new range of products for the renewable energies market and emerging technologies.
  • In 1993, ENERTRÓN supplied the first European 100 kVA IGBT inverter for photovoltaic energy, thus playing a part in the emblematic photovoltaic plant in Toledo having a power output of 1 MW. Since then, ENERTRÓN has been dedicated to manufacturing inverters for Photovoltaic Power Stations.
  • ENERTRÓN has continued to expand its activities, offering complete engineering solutions for photovoltaic power stations, a range of fuel cell converters, superconducting coils, plasma torches and wind turbines.
  • GAMESA acquired a 100% stake in ENERTRÓN in 2004, which then came to form part of the Gamesa Electric business unit.
  • Today ENERTRÓN is consolidating itself as one of the main Spanish suppliers in the renewable energies market. At its premises located in Coslada, the company manufactures photovoltaic inverters of up to 500 kW and solutions for voltage dips in wind farms, a pioneering technological advance in the market.
