VSI Converters for Stand-alone Wind-Diesel Generators based on Flywheel Energy Storage Systems.

Enertron is involved in the design and manufacturing of the power converters needed in a state-of-the-art “ Stand-alone Wind-Diesel Generator application ”. 
The System is designed to supply 50 kW during 1.8 minutes, time enough to compensate most of the wind oscillations that would stress too much the Diesel Generator. 
Two special VSI 50 kW converters have been designed by Enertron having the following main characteristics:

AC side Converter

• 50 kW bidirectional converter.

• Low AC current THD.

• Active and Reactive Power externally defined.

• PF=1 or adjustable.

• Operates correctly on weak grids.

• Grid Monitoring.
  

Motor side Converter

• 50 kW bidirectional converter.

• Drives a 30.000 rmp SRM motor. 

• Self-controlled operation, driving the motor at its maximum torque.
